CAA Names Herman Pitcher of the Week

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW sophomore Lynsie Herman closed out the 2026 regular season with the Coastal Athletic Association's final Pitcher of the Week recognition after three scoreless relief appearances vs. Campbell to help the Seahawks clinch the CAA South Division.

The Seahawks locked in the No. 2 seed in the CAA Championship with nine scoreless innings, along with a win and a save as UNCW took two of three against the Camels at home.

After three scoreless frames in Thursday night's setback, Herman picked up the win in four blank innings of work, surrendering just one hit, in Friday's first game. The left-hander retired two batters on strikes in another pair of scoreless innings on Friday to pick up her third save of the year in the weekend finale to clinch the series and seed line.

UNCW will turn its attention towards capturing its third CAA Tournament title in the last five years when it opens the CAA Championships at Elon on Thursday, May 7, at 2:30 p.m. against the winner of Wednesday's No. 3 Campbell and No. 6 Elon game.
