Hamilton Earns CAA Co-Rookie of the Week

WILMINGTON, North Carolina - UNCW freshman pitcher Camille Hamilton has earned Coastal Athletic Association Softball Co-Rookie of the Week honors following an impressive performance at the Wofford Invitational last weekend.

Hamilton went 1-0 with a save, 16 strikeouts and just four baserunners allowed in 10 innings of work against St. Bonaventure, UMBC and the host Terriers.

The Garner, N.C., native struck out five of the seven batters she faced in two-inning save against the Bonnies to open the weekend on Friday before allowing one hit across three relief innings against Wofford.

In her first career start against the Retrievers on Saturday, Hamilton tossed five shutout innings with six strikeouts for her first career win.

UNCW continues play on Wednesday at East Carolina.
