Planned Giving
A planned gift includes contributions made through a bequest, charitable lead trust, charitable remaining trust, life insurance policy, individual retirement account, charitable gift annuity, pooled income fund, and combinations of these gift vehicles. Appreciated securities and real estate are accepted by the Seahawk Club and UNCW. Endowments
Endowed scholarships allow UNCW Athletics to provide our student-athletes a guaranteed amount of financial support annually, while providing our donor(s) a life-long partnership with us in strengthening Seahawks sports programs. Endowments can benefit a specific sport, with donors having an opportunity to work with us to designate requirements and preferences for the scholarship. Endowed scholarships require a minimum principal gift of $25,000. The interest earned on this initial investment is used to award the scholarship. The first award is normally given 18-24 months from the date the principal gift is made. As the fund ages, awards will be made each year from the interest earned and the principal (your commitment) is maintained in perpetuity, which leaves you with a lasting legacy of support for UNCW Athletics.
