Corbin, Hamilton Collect CAA Weekly Honors

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW's Camille Hamilton was named Coastal Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week while Allison Corbin captured Player of the Week following a sweep of North Carolina A&T over the weekend.

Hamilton, who was also named D1 Softball's Mid-Major Freshman of the Week, tossed the first perfect game in UNCW history last Friday against the Aggies. The Garner, N.C. native threw a career-high six innings with a personal best 11 strikeouts on 69 pitches, with no ball leaving the infield.

The right-hander then closed out the sweep in UNCW's first CAA series on Sunday with 3.1 scoreless innings for her second win of the week, bringing her weekend strikeout total to 16.

Corbin batted .667 in Greensboro with a three runs scored and three RBI. 

After a 2-for-3 showing on Friday, the junior totaled three hits, including the eventual game-winning double to deep center. She picked up her fourth straight game with at least one hit and one RBI in the series finale with a one-run single on Sunday.

The Seahawks travel to play Duke later Tuesday at 6 p.m. on the ACC Network.
