Hamilton, Whitwell Earn CAA Weekly Honors

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW softball team earned a pair of Coastal Athletic Association Weekly awards with Camille Hamilton receiving Pitcher of the Week and Emily Whitwell claiming Co-Rookie of the Week honors as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.

The Seahawks won their fifth conference series of 2026 at Drexel on Friday and Saturday to maintain a share of first place in the South Division with Campbell.

Hamilton appeared in all three games and totaled 9.1 scoreless innings in which she scattered seven hits and struck out three. The rookie sensation opened the weekend with five scoreless innings as part of the Seahawks' 14th shutout of the season.

Whitwell posted a .455/.455/.500 slash line with five hits and six runs scored. The freshman fashioned two hits and two RBI in Friday's opener while scoring twice and swiping a base in the 7-0 victory.

This marks the fourth weekly honor for Hamilton, and second as Pitcher of the Week, while Whitwell garnered her first career weekly accolade.

UNCW travels to Charleston for its regular-season road finale this weekend.
