Softball Duo Lands on NFCA All-Region Teams

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW softball standouts Camille Hamilton and Cassidy Relay continue to accumulate an impressive postseason awards haul after landing on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Mid-Atlantic Region teams, as announced on Thursday afternoon.

Relay becomes the second Seahawk in as many years to earn All-Region Second Team distinctions after junior Madison Biddle in 2025. Hamilton, the Coastal Athletic Association Pitcher and Rookie of the Year, landed on the NFCA Third Team.

Relay, an All-CAA First Teamer, led the conference with a .461 batting average, and was one of eight league players with an on-base-plus slugging percentage greater than 1.000.  The junior outfielder stole 32 bases and did not commit an error while starting all 51 contests.

This is Hamilton's second NFCA recognition of her first-year campaign after earning NFCA Freshman of the Year Top 25 status in April. Hamilton went 15-6 with a 2.16 ERA across 113.1 innings.

The All-CAA First Teamer tossed the first perfect game in UNCW history on March 13, 2026, at North Carolina A&T with a career-high 11 strikeouts across six innings with no ball leaving the infield.

UNCW has had 14 All-Region selections and at least one in the last six seasons.
