UNCW Athletic Hall of Fame
As the cross country program’s first NCAA participant and a regular All-CAA performer in track and field, Fenton established a standard for other runners to follow in years to come.Â
The New Hartford, N.Y., native excelled on the course and in the classroom during a four-year career from 1991-94. She earned All-Colonial Athletic Association honors in 1993 and 1994, All-Southeast honors in 1994 and qualified for the 1994 NCAA Cross Country Championships.
In track, Fenton collected All-East honors in the 5,000 Meters (indoor), 5,000 Meters (outdoor) and Distance Medley Relay.Â
Following graduation, Fenton was an assistant coach in the UNCW program from 1995-99, completing her master’s degree in 1999.
