With a stroke as pure as the mountain water and the coolness to match, Berzonski used the perfect complement of both during an exemplary golf career with the Seahawks from 2002-05.
Â
The North East, Pa., golfer won five collegiate events individually and led the Seahawks to six team titles. She was a three-time All-Conference selection in the Big South Conference and First-Team All-CAA in 2005.
Â
Berzonski was the Big South Medalist and Player-of-the-Year in 2004 and CAA Player-of-the-Year in 2005, leading the Seahawks to NCAA Regional appearances all four years. In 2004-05, she ranked 26th in the GolfStat rankings, the highest for an individual in program history.
Â
In the classroom, she excelled as well, becoming a regular on the Dean’s List and earning the CAA Commissioner’s Award, UNCW Golden Seahawk Award and NGCA Scholar-Athlete Award four times. In 2004-05, she received the Chancellor’s Cup, the highest academic honor for a UNCW student-athlete.
Â
