Sandy Hawks Open SBC Tournament On Thursday

FOLEY, Ala. - The Seahawks open the Sun Belt Conference tournament on Thursday and will be the third seed. UNCW meets sixth-seeded Southern Miss at 2:30 p.m. ET on Thursday and the match will be streamed on ESPN+.

UNCW brings an 18-7 record into the double elimination tournament with the winner of the event earning the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament in May.

UNCW and Southern Miss met earlier this season at the SBC Midyear Duals with the Golden Eagles edging the Seahawks, 3-2. The programs have met just twice with the Seahawks picking up a 4-1 during the 2024 season in Huntsville, Ala. USM posted wins at the fourth and fifth pairings and clinched the match at the top pairing.

The entire tournament will be streamed on ESPN+.
