UNCW Falls In Sun Belt Semis

FOLEY, Ala. – UNCW's season came to an end on Saturday with a 3-2 loss to rival Coastal Carolina in the semifinals of the Sun Belt Conference Beach Volleyball tournament at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex.

The Seahawks finished the season with a 14-23 record and reached the semifinals of the Sun Belt Conference tournament for the second time in as many seasons.

UNCW's Gabby LaPata and Sarah Thompson, who were selected to the All-Tournament team, earned the first point of the day with a 21-16, 21-19 win on court two.

Coastal Carolina answered with straight-set wins on courts one and three and clinched the duel with a three-set victory on court four to advance to the finals.

Keenan Engbretson and Traci Schrock won their match on four five, 21-11, 21-18.
