Seahawks, Cougars meet again, this time at the SBC Tournament

FOLEY, Ala. – UNCW opens its Sun Belt Conference tournament run on Thursday with a first-round duel against the College of Charleston at 11 a.m EST.

The championship tournament will be streamed on ESPN+ and will have live results. Links to all coverage can be found at UNCWSports.com.

The Seahawks are the number-four seed after going 3-3 in conference play with wins over Charleston, ULM and Mercer, the latter two at the SBC Mid-Season Duals.

The pairing of Gracie Sistrunk and Lyvia Trimp leads the Seahawks with a 24-7 record and has won its last 16 matches. Last weekend, the duo posted wins at the number one pairing over nationally-ranked Stetson, South Carolina and North Florida.

At the second pairing, Gabby LaPata and Sarah Thompson have turned it up, going 7-3 in their last 10 matches.

The winner of this duel will play again later in the day, while the loser enters the elimination bracket on Friday.
