Hammock Earns Second CAA Weekly Honor of 2024

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW's Kara Hammock has captured her second Coastal Athletic Association Softball Pitcher of the Week distinction of 2024 after two dominant starts vs. Elon last weekend.

Hammock went 2-0 with a 0.58 ERA in two games against the Phoenix. The junior right-hander tossed a complete game on Saturday before throwing five innings on Sunday to secure the sweep.

The Seahawks (15-9, 6-0 CAA) have won four straight games started by Hammock, who is tied for second in the league with eight wins. The former All-CAA First-Teamer and Rookie of the Year once again ranks among the conference's top pitchers in ERA (2nd – 1.77), opponent batting average (1st - .200), innings pitched (5th – 71.1), strikeouts (6th – 44) and complete games (2nd – 6).

UNCW carries its six-game winning streak into Wednesday's doubleheader at nationally-ranked Duke at 3 p.m.
