Stockton Earns CAA Player of the Week

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW outfielder Skylar Stockton has garnered Coastal Athletic Association Player of the Week accolades following the Seahawks' conference-opening sweep at Hampton.

Stockton went 6-for-13 (.462) with a home run and four RBI to help the Seahawks to a 3-1 week that included a three-game sweep against the Lady Pirates. The Woodlands, Texas, product also swiped three bases, scored three runs and produced a .769 slugging percentage.

The 5-5 outfielder reached safely in all four games and currently has a six-game hitting streak.

The graduate outfielder is amidst a breakout campaign with a team-leading .396 batting average and is tied for second with nine RBI. She also set a school record with 12 hit by pitches this season which have boosted a .515 on-base percentage that is first in the league among players with at least 20 games played.

It is the first weekly honor of Stockton's career and marks the fourth straight season UNCW has had a Player of the Week honoree.

The Seahawks continue CAA play at Boseman Field with a three-game series vs. Elon starting Friday at 6 p.m.
