Softball Announces 2026 Schedule

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW softball team has released its 2026 schedule with 51 regular-season games, including 28 contests at Boseman Field this spring.

The Seahawks will also travel through 19 away contests and five neutral-site games. The slate includes a 24-game Coastal Athletic Association slate.

The Seahawks begin their season the weekend of Feb. 6-8 when they host Appalachian State, George Washington and Kennesaw State in the first of three home weekend tournaments this year.

The second home weekend occurs from Feb. 20-22, which features Georgetown, Iona and Lafayette. The final home weekend takes place from Mar. 6-8 when Army, UNC Greensboro and Toledo visit the Port City.

UNCW will also participate in a pair of road tournaments in February at Wofford, along with St. Bonaventure and UMBC, and return to Athens, Ga., for the first time since its 2024 NCAA Regional appearance, when it joins South Alabama and 2025 NCAA Super Regional participant Georgia in a weekend round-robin.

The Bulldogs are one of three NCAA Tournament teams from one year ago on the Seahawks' 2026 docket, along with a single-game road trip to Duke and a home series against Elon.

UNCW and East Carolina renew their longtime rivalry with a home-and-home series.

Other home CAA opponents include Charleston, Towson and Campbell. League road trips to North Carolina A&T, Hampton, Drexel and the Cougars await UNCW in 2026.

The 2026 CAA Tournament will be held at Elon's Hunt Softball Park from May 6-9.

2026 CAA DIVISION SCHEDULING FORMAT
CAA athletic directors have approved a new divisional scheduling format and a change to the way teams are determined for the conference championship in four different sports, including softball, for the 2025-26 season.

Softball
The conference will be separated into two divisions – North: (Drexel, Hofstra, Monmouth, Stony Brook and Towson) and South: (Campbell, Charleston, Elon, Hampton, North Carolina A&T and UNCW). During the regular season, teams will play eight conference series (24 games). In the North, teams will play two divisional opponents once and the other two divisional opponents twice (home and away). There will also be two series (one home, one away) against teams from the South Division. In the South, two teams will play three divisional opponents once and the other two divisional opponents twice (home and away) as well as one series against a team from the North Division. Three teams will play four divisional opponents once and the other divisional opponent twice (home and away) as well as two series (one home, one away) against teams from the North Division.

The top two teams from each division based on conference winning percentage in all games will qualify for the six-team CAA Championship. The other two tournament participants will be the teams that have the highest conference winning percentage in all conference games played, but did not finish first or second in their division.
