Volleyball Hosts Northeastern In CAA Action

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Seahawks continue Coastal Athletic Association play this weekend when they host Northeastern for a pair of matches beginning on Friday at Hanover Hall.

The series opens with a 6 p.m. start on Friday and wraps up Saturday at 1 p.m. Friday's match will be streamed on FloCollege. This weekend the Seahawks welcome back their alumni and will recognize them on Saturday during the match.

UNCW (6-8, 1-1 CAA) opened conference play last weekend with a split of two matches at defending conference champion Campbell. The Seahawks fell in four the first night but rallied for a four-set win on Saturday. The win was the first true road win since the 2024 season.

Heading up the Seahawks in that win were Nadia Wasilewski and Elaina Murphy, who both combined for 30 kills. After seeing the Camels even the match at one-all with a second set win, the Seahawks posted consecutive 25-22 wins in sets three and four for the win.

The Huskies (4-8, 2-2 CAA) swept visiting North Carolina A&T to even its conference mark. Northeastern's Cayeene Ceman was recognized as the CAA's Rookie of the Week after helping the sweep by totaling 34 kills and hitting .311 against the Aggies.

The series features a pair of top hitters in the league, with Beatrice Gennari (.414) of Northeastern and UNCW's Courtney Graham (.333) ranking second and sixth, respectively, in the top 10 in hitting average.
