Sistrunk, Trimp Named Pair of the Year

Duo earns the honor for the second straight season

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW's top pairing of Gracie Sistrunk and Lyvia Trimp was honored by the Sun Belt Conference coaches as the league's Pair of the Year for the second time in as many seasons, the league announced on Wednesday.

Sistrunk and Trimp enter the postseason with a 23-7 record and have won 15 straight matches. During that run, the duo posted wins over nationally ranked Stetson, North Florida, and South Carolina. Sistrunk and Trimp are 13-0 against Sun Belt members.

Sistrunk and Trimp were also first-team All-Sun Belt honorees for the second straight season.

Joining them on the all-conference teams were Gabby LaPata and Sarah Thompson, who were second-team selections. LaPata and Thompson teamed to go 7-2 down the stretch for the Seahawks, who will be the four-seed in the conference tournament. LaPata and Thompson were first-team selections in 2025.

Earlier in the day, Sistrunk and Trimp were honored for a third time this season as the league's Pair of the Week. The pair went 4-0 last weekend at the DeLand Cup with three wins against nationally-ranked opponents and defending SBC champion, Georgia State. With the honor, the duo becomes the first to earn three weekly SBC honors in a season.

The Seahawks open the Sun Belt Conference tournament on Thursday at 11 a.m. EST. ESPN+ will stream the duals with Shelby Coppedge and Garrett Woolvard calling all the action from Foley, Ala.
