Beach Volleyball Splits SBC Duals

ATLANTA, Ga. – UNCW split a pair of duals against Georgia State and Louisiana Monroe on Friday at the Sun Belt Conference Mid-Season Duals.

The Seahawks are now 8-14 overall and 2-2 in league play.

The Seahawks dropped a 4-1 decision to host Georgia State, with Gracie Sistrunk and Lyvia Trimp posting a straight-set win at the number one pairing.

Against ULM, Alise Barbour and Alivia Hamel gave UNCW a 1-0 lead with a 21-7, 21-16 win at the fourth pairing, but ULM tied it with a victory at the fifth pair.

After Sistrunk and Trimp earned another win, Traci Schrock and Sarah Thompson clinched the dual with a 21-17, 21-9 at the third pairing.

Gabby LaPata and Hannah Parkinson closed out the day at the number two pairing, winning 21-13, 21-14.

The Sun Belt Conference Mid-Season Duals continue Saturday with the Seahawks heading to Macon, Ga., for duals against Mercer (11:15 a.m.) and Southern Miss (1:30 p.m.).
