Sistrunk, Trimp Earn Sun Belt Honors

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW'S Gracie Sistrunk and Lyvia Trimp were honored by the Sun Belt Conference on Wednesday as its Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week.

Sistrunk and Trimp went 4-0 while playing at the number one pairing last weekend at the South Carolina Derby in Charleston, S.C. They posted wins over Erskine and Tampa on day one and followed with victories over SBC members Coastal Carolina and Charleston on day two.

Against Coastal Carolina, Sistrunk and Trimp knocked off CCU's Frida Lyo and Emma Kunaus in three sets, winning the third by a score of 15-12. It was UNCW's only win of the dual.
In the tournament finale against CofC, the pair made quick work of their opponent, winning 21-12, 21-12, to improve to 12-7 on the season.

Sistrunk and Trimp have won their last four outings and are 7-3 in their last 10 outings. Over the past one-plus season, the duo owns a record of 47-8, while splitting time at the number one and two pairings.

The Seahawks visit Georgia this weekend for the SBC Mid-Season Duals, beginning on Friday with Georgia State at 9 a.m.
