Three Seahawks Finish In Heptathlon Top-10

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Led by Kaylee Franklin, UNCW placed three athletes in the top 10 of the Heptathlon on Friday at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational.

"It was a great weekend for Kaylee, Emma and Megan," said Head Coach Jeff Klaves. "The three fed off each other and pushed each other throughout the event. We're looking forward to seeing what this group continues to do this season."

Franklin, a sophomore, scored 4,600 points, a career-best, in finishing second to Coastal Carolina's Maria Hognadottir. Franklin posted a personal-best time of 15.53 seconds in the 100 Hurdles. Her point total moved her into second all-time at UNCW. Among the events she won were the 200 and 800 meters.

Emma Crozier-Carole, a junior, placed third with 4,548 points, ranking third on UNCW's career top-10 list. Crozier-Carole won three events, including the High Jump, Long Jump, and Shot Put.
