UNCW Records Three Top-5 Finishes At CAA Indoors

BOSTON, Mass. – UNCW scored in eight events, including three top-five performances on Sunday in the Coastal Athletic Association Indoor Track & Field Championships at The Track at New Balance.

Elon captured its second indoor title and avenged a narrow loss to Hampton last season. UNCW finished 10th, five points out of ninth. The meet was altered to a one-day championship due to an impending snowstorm.

Emma Crozier-Carole posted a mark of 19-2 3/4 feet, third all-time at UNCW, to earn five fourth-place points for the Seahawks in the Long Jump and then recorded a fifth-place finish in the Pentathlon with 3,459 points, good for second all-time in program history.

Brylee Montanari took fifth in the 60 Hurdles with a time of 8.70 seconds.

In the Pole Vault, Carly Gordinier was sixth with a mark of 12-3 1/2, tying for second in program history.

Joining Crozier-Carole with a top-five finish in the Pentathlon was Kaylee Franklin, who was sixth (3,344 pts). That total lifted her into third on the program's record list and setting a program record for freshmen.

With height of 5-5 feet, Myla Watson finished seventh in the High Jump.

In relay action, Sadie Buchanon, Leila Ortiz, Makaila Williamson, and Ella Jade Osada combined for a time of 3:52.90 in the 4x400 to take seventh.

The Distance Medley Relay of Demi Nicholas, Avery Rueckert, Olivia Priddy, and Claire Carmichael placed eighth (12:13.24).
