Rico Earns CAA Golfer of the Week

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW senior James Rico has earned Coastal Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Week after helping the Seahawks to a second-place finish at Jacksonville's SeaBest Invitational earlier this week.

Rico surged up the leaderboard in Tuesday's second round after sinking a birding on three of his first five holes on the day. The Cary, N.C., native posted a 71-66=137 scorecard and shared the tournament lead with 11 birdies over the shortened two-day, 36-hole event.

UNCW finished a stroke behind fifth-ranked Florida for the team title while topping No. 34 Texas A&M, who finished third in the spring opener. The Seahawks jumped from No. 64 to No. 52 in the lastest Clippd rankings.
