Mitchum Named CAA Golfer of the Week

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW men's golfer Gray Mitchum was named Coastal Athletic Association Golfer of the Week following his first career collegiate win at the ECU Intercollegiate on Tuesday.

Mitchum posted a three-under 213 score at Brook Valley Country Club to help the Seahawks earn the team title.

The graduate student was one of three UNCW golfers to finish in the top five and one of four to finish in the top 10. The Greenville, N.C., native jumped out to a hot start with five birdies in the opening round.

Mitchum carded a three-under 69 score in the first and second rounds and staved off a late push by Ryan Jahr of Barton for his first individual title.
