Beach Volleyball Falls Twice On Saturday

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – UNCW closed out its first tournament of the spring by dropping a pair of duels to nationally-ranked Florida State and Tampa on Saturday at the FSU Beach Volleyball Courts.

With the losses, the Seahawks fell to 2-4 on the season.

Against the sixth-ranked Seminoles, the Seahawks dropped all five matches with Gabby LaPata and Hannah Parkinsonfalling 21-19, 21-18 at the second pairing.

The Seahawks dropped a 3-2 decision to Tampa with Gabby LaPata and Hannah Parkinson winning at the second pairing in three sets and Alivia Hamel and Traci Schrock winning in straight sets at the fourth pairing.

The Seahawks head to Manoa, Hawaii, for the Queens Cup Beach Volleyball Tournament, hosted by the University of Hawaii. They open pool play with Pepperdine and Saint Mary's on Mar. 5.
