Beach Volleyball Drops Two At Seminole Bash

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – UNCW dropped a pair of duals to nationally-ranked Florida Atlantic and North Florida on Friday in the opening round of the Seminole Beach Bash, hosted by Florida State.

With the losses, the Seahawks dropped to .500 at 2-2 on the young season.

FAU, which is ranked 14th in the most recent AVCA rankings, picked up wins at the third through fifth pairings to clinch a 3-0 victory. The Seahawks were winning both matches on courts one and two when the match ended.

In the second duel, UNF picked up wins on courts four, five and one to take the duel by a 3-0 score. The UNCW loss on court one was the first in 28 matches for the pairing of Gracie Sistrunk and Lyvia Trimp.

The Seahawks face sixth-ranked Florida State at 11 a.m. on Saturday before the tournament ends with match-up play later in the day.
