Cooper Rolls To CAA Pitching Honors

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Junior righthander Cooper Allen was honored Monday as the Coastal Athletic Association's Pitcher of the Week after helping the Seahawks to a series win over visiting Fordham.

Allen improved to 2-0 on Saturday with the win over Fordham. He surpassed his previous career-long of five innings, going six shutout frames against the Rams and setting a new career-high with 10 strikeouts. He scattered three hits and extended his shutout streak to 11 innings to open the season.

The Seahawks host Duke on Tuesday at 4 p.m. and then hit the road for the first time this season on Wednesday at Charleston Southern. UNCW returns to Brooks Field next weekend for a three-game series with UConn beginning on Friday at 4 p.m.
