Baseball Preview: Fordham

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW hosts Fordham this weekend for a three-game series opening on Friday with a 4 p.m. first pitch.

The Seahawks evened their record at 2-2 earlier this week with a 10-0 win over visiting Merrimack. Kevin Jones and Brady Thompson collected three hits apiece and Jones launched a three-run homer in the second inning.

Freshman Trey Williford struck out six in his collegiate starting debut, going 4.1 innings.

Fordham (0-4), which did not play a midweek game, dropped its opening weekend series at New Mexico.

The series is the first since 2008 when UNCW swept a 4-0 game set from the Rams.

The series will be streamed on FloCollege, the official streaming partner of the Coastal Athletic Association. Friday and Sunday's games will also be aired on 95.9 The Breeze. Links to live coverage of the series can be found here.
