Baseball Preview: Duke

The Seahawks conclude their season-opening eight-game homestand on Tuesday with Duke at 4 p.m. UNCW will play five games this week, visiting Charleston Southern on Wednesday before hosting UConn beginning Friday in a three-game set.

Duke carries a 7-2 mark into the non-conference test following a series win over visiting Milwaukee. The Seahawks also earned a series win against Fordham and stand at 4-3.

UNCW freshman Trey Williford (0-0) draws his second start of the season while Duke counters with a freshman of its own in Jordan Regulski, who made his collegiate debut last week in a start against Appalachian State.

Tuesday's game at Brooks Field marks the first time since 2006 that Duke has made the trip. UNCW topped the Blue Devils, 17-0, that afternoon and swept the home-and-home series with a 15-8 victory in Durham.

UNCW leads the series, 23-13.
