WILMINGTON, N.C. – JP Pennella collected two hits for UNCW, but Fordham pitching combined for 13 strikeouts in a 3-1 Rams win on Friday in the opening game of a three-game series at Brooks Field.

The Rams halted a four-game season-opening losing streak with the win while the Seahawks fell back to 2-3.

Fordham struck for two in the first inning against losing pitcher Connor Marshburn (0-2). Anthony Grabau singled in the first run and the second came across on a ground ball double play.
