Seahawk Club Sets Fund-Raising Mark

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW Associate Athletic Director for Development Adam Fearing and the Seahawk Club have announced a record-breaking total of funds raised during fiscal year 2025.

Following 2024's all-time high membership mark of 2,752, the Seahawk Club surpassed another milestone. A total of $8,046,169 was raised, more than doubling the record of $4,019,746 set the previous fiscal year.

"With the changing landscape of collegiate athletics, philanthropy is more crucial than ever. We've been asking our supporters to step up and they continue to answer the call. We are extremely humbled and inspired by the generosity of our donors, and believe the future is bright for UNCW Athletics," Fearing said.

The Seahawk Club reports fundraising progress on the fiscal year of July 1 through June 30. This record-setting total was comprised of annual fund gifts, multi-year major gift commitments, event revenue, and planned-giving from Seahawk Club members. Driving the record-setting total were commitments to the Champions Circle giving society, which launched in 2024.

"We have tremendous Seahawk student-athletes, who are worthy of supporting," said Director of Athletics Michael Oblinger. "Over the last academic year, our student-athletes and coaches brought home conference championships, excelled in the classroom, and have poured into the Wilmington community. None of these accomplishments are possible without our supporters. These generous contributions will directly enhance the student-athlete experience and fuel our continued pursuit of excellence.
