Sandy Hawks Split Matches At Coastal

CONWAY, S.C. – UNCW blanked the College of Charleston, 5-0 but came up on the short end of a 4-1 loss to UAB on Saturday at the Coastal Carolina Beach Volleyball Complex.

With the split, the Seahawks pushed their record to 17-6 and 10-2 against members of the Sun Belt Conference.

Only two matches went the distance in the CofC win. UNCW posted straight-set wins at the first, second and fourth pairings.

UNCW's pairing of Lyvia Trimp and Gracie Sistrunk won twice on Saturday to extend their winning streak to 17 matches and record to 20-1.

UNCW makes its final preparations on Apr. 11-12 when they play Coastal Carolina and the College of Charleston in Mount Pleasant, S.C., prior to the SBC Conference tournament beginning on Apr. 24, in Foley, Ala,
