Sistrunk, Trimp Extend Streak To 21

FOLEY, Ala. – Gracie Sistrunk and Lyvia Trimp won two matches to run their winning steak to 21 as UNCW split a pair of duals on Thursday at the Sun Belt Conference Beach Volleyball Championships at the Foley Beach Volleyball Complex.

The Seahawks (19-8) take on ULM (13-21) in an elimination dual at 12:30 p.m. ET on Friday.

Sistrunk and Trimp ran their record to 26-1, tying UNCW's single-season record for wins. The wins also moved Sistrunk to 72 career wins, one short of tying Ellie Bucci's record of 73.

The Seahawks swept Southern Miss in their first dual of the day, 5-0, posting straight-set sweeps at the first through third pairings. At the fourth pairing, Tamsie Black and Sophie Puhala rallied to edge USM in three sets and Hannah Forbes and Maddie Folks did the same at the fifth pairing.

UNCW fell to the loser's bracket following a 4-1 loss to second-seeded and nationally-ranked Georgia State. Only Sistrunk and Trimp notched a win, breezing in straight sets, 21-15 and 21-10, at the second pairing.
