WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW senior swimmer Dave Fitch has been named Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the Coastal Athletic Association's Academic Affairs Committee.

Fitch has helped the men's swimming and diving program to four straight conference championships. He's also earned multiple All-CAA honors. In 2025, Fitch received all-conference accolades after third-place finishes in the 100 and 200 fly and as a member of UNCW's second-place team in the 400 free relay and third-place squads in the 200 and 400 medley relays.

Academically, Fitch, who is pursuing a master's degree in business analytics, posted a 3.71 grade point average as an undergraduate. Fitch has twice been honored as a Scholar All-American by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association for combined performance in the pool and classroom. He is a five-time CSC Academic All-District honoree and has made the CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll during each semester.

In addition to his academic and athletic achievements, Fitch has been involved in many community service projects during his time at UNCW, including food drives and beach cleanups. A team captain, he has been a three-year member of UNCW's SAAC group and has served as an executive board member.
