Beach Volleyball Sets Winning Streak Mark

MACON, Ga. – UNCW finished off a weekend sweep at the Bears Beach Bash with three more wins on Saturday to push its winning streak to a program-record nine consecutive matches.

The Seahawks upped their record to 12-3 and with a sweep of Mercer, UNCW is now 6-0 in the Sun Belt Conference.

In the weekend finale, Tamsie Black and Sophia Puhala defeated Amanda Cunningham and Kelly Erhard of Mercer at the fifth pairing, 16-21, 21-9 and 15-11.

The previous record of eight straight wins came in 2022 when the Seahawks set a program record with 25 wins and reached the semifinals of the ASUN conference tournament.

UNCW heads to Foley, Ala., next weekend when they compete in the Sun Belt Mid-Season Duals (Mar. 28-29).
