Beach Volleyball Extends Winning Streak To Six

MACON, Ga. – UNCW posted a pair of narrow wins over Jacksonville and Mercer and a 5-0 victory over Emmanuel as the Seahawks swept day one of the Bears Beach Bash, hosted by Mercer.

The Seahawks ran their record 9-3 with three wins, which also extended their winning streak to six consecutive duals.

In the opener against Jacksonville, Annika Thompson and Tracy Schrock clinched the win with a three-set win at the third pairing.

The Mercer match came down to court one where UNCW's Gabby LaPata and Sarah Thompson fashioned a straight-set win to clinch the win.

In the day's finale, UNCW swept Emmanuel and did not drop a set.

The Seahawks play three more duals on Saturday beginning at 8 a.m. against host Mercer.
