Beach Volleyball Knocks Off CofC Twice

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW eased past the College of Charleston twice on Friday by the score of 4-1 as the Seahawks played their only home duals of the season at the Shoreline Sports Complex.

With the sweep, UNCW improved to 3-2 while the Cougars slipped to 3-3.

In the opener, the Seahawks posted straight-set wins in three of the four wins with reigning Sun Belt Conference pair of the week Lyvia Trimp and Gracie Sistrunk winning in three sets at the second pairing.

UNCW's top pair of Sarah Thompson and Gabby LaPata clinched the dual with a 22-20, 21-19 win over CofC's Ella Duffner and Emily Banitt.

The two duals were the beginning of five set this season between the two programs.
