Sandy Hawks Conclude Opening Weekend

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – UNCW closed out its opening weekend with a 4-1 setback to nationally-ranked North Florida on Sunday at the Dolphin Duals at the Payne Sand Volleyball Courts at Dolphin Beach.

The Seahawks knocked off South Florida in an exhibition match earlier in the day, 4-1.

Against UNF, Gracie Sistrunk and Lyvia Trimp capped a 3-0 weekend with a three-set victory over Andrea Da Silva and Taylor Pierce (15-21, 21-16, 17-15) at the number two pairing.

Earlier in the tournament, the pair knocked off South Carolina and added a win over host Jacksonville both at the second pairing.

The Seahawks host the College of Charleston in their home opener on Feb. 28 at the Shoreline Sports Complex. First serve is set for 4 p.m.
