Acevedo Earns CAA Offensive Player of the Week

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW sophomore Christian Acevedo has garnered Coastal Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Week honors following his two-goal effort in Saturday's comeback win vs. Campbell.

Acevedo's first career brace, the first by a Seahawk since Ethan Newsome vs. Stony Brook in 2024, erased a two-goal deficit and set the stage for Newsome's game-winner with less than four minutes go in the match.

The Orlando, Fla., native, leads the Seahawks with a career-high five goals this season and his nine goals are the most among UNCW players since joining the program in 2024. All nine of Acevedo's career scores have come as a reserve.

Acevedo is the third Seahawk to earn CAA Offensive Player of the Week honors this season after Osei Gyamfi (Sept. 15) and Bryan Miralrio (Sept. 22).
