Gyamfi, Lee Propel Seahawks to 2-0 Win vs. Eagles

WILMINGTON, N.C. – A pair of second-half goals by Osei Gyamfi and Ryan Lee propelled the UNCW men's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over visiting Georgia Southern on Sunday night at the UNCW Soccer Stadium.

The Seahawks begin the year 1-0-0 after their would-be season opener last Thursday at UMBC was declared a no contest in the 83rd minute due to weather delays. The Eagles stand 1-1-0 early in 2026.

Gyamfi, a Preseason All-CAA Team member, lived up the billing after firing a strike from distance on a free kick to give the Seahawks a 1-0 advantage in the 72nd minute. 

Lee added his first goal of the season roughly six minutes later, connecting on a cross from Benjamin Gooding as Kieran Radke advanced the ball from midfield.

UNCW goalkeeper Alex Kron fashioned a shutout with two saves in his Seahawk debut.

The Seahawks continue their season on Thursday at Mercer at 5 p.m.
