Mitchum Finishes 12th At Rod Myers Invitational

DURHAM, N.C. – UNCW junior Gray Mitchum finished 12th overall at two-under-par to lead the Seahawks, who placed eighth at the Rod Myers Invitational on Monday at the Duke University Golf Club.

NC State won the 12-team tournament by 10 strokes over host Duke.

NCSU's Nick Matthews earned medalist honors with a six-stroke win over Connor McNeely of Cincinnati.

Mitchum, 68-76-70=214, posted his first top-20 finish of the season behind steady play that included 40 pars and an eagle. He was able to play par fives at five under for the tournament.

The Seahawks next compete at the Carolina Cup, hosted by USC Upstate, on Oct. 6-8.
