Dubois Signed Through 2026-27

Men's tennis earned its 10th CAA title in the spring

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW Director of Athletics Michael Oblinger has announced men's head tennis coach Mait Dubois has signed a contract to remain with the Seahawks through the 2026-27 season.

"Mait has done a tremendous job with the program and maintaining a championship standard within it," said Oblinger. "I am excited about his continued leadership and vision moving forward."

Dubois, the winningest coach in program history, recently captured his 10th Coastal Athletic Association men's tennis conference tournament championship with a 4-1 win over Elon. The Seahawks became the first CAA program to win four straight championships since VCU did so in the late 1990's.

"I am very proud and appreciative of the support, confidence, and trust of AD Michael Oblinger and our leadership staff," said Dubois. "While I am proud of what we have accomplished in the last 17 years, we have a lot of goals still to be accomplished."

The Seahawks, who reached as high as 54th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, finished the 2024 season with a 17-6 mark and competed in the NCAA Raleigh Regional.

Dubois is a nine-time CAA Coach of the Year and has twice been recognized as the ITA Regional Coach of the Year.

"I can't imagine myself anywhere else and I am committed to the vision of UNCW athletics. I firmly believe that what we are teaching our players, through athletics combined with a world-class education, that UNCW is truly the best preparation to be hugely successful after graduation. I am excited about the future of our program and am truly thankful for the commitment that UNCW athletics has made."
