WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW men's tennis wrapped up competition at the Porters Neck Invite with four overall flights, highlighted by singles wins from Tomas Marin, Gabriel Jacquemin and Brady Hussey, as well as a doubles flight from William Dean and JP Coello.

"I'm really proud of our group and the number of titles that we were able to win this weekend", said head coach Mait DuBois. "Great job winning the A1, A2, B1 singles titles and the A doubles flights. Plus having 3 of those winners be 1^st- or 2^nd-semester freshmen says a lot for where our program is headed.

"Huge thank you to the Porters Neck Tennis community and Yona Bar-Zeev," said DuBois. "Getting to play at their beautiful club and exceptional fan support is a truly special experience and one our team always really enjoys."

The Seahawks opened the weekend with a 10-0 record in singles play, highlighted by Marin's straight-set victory over No. 3 seed Rafael Asadullin of Presbyterian, 7-6 (2), 6-2.

After the opening day, three Seahawks advanced to the finals in singles competition, with Noah Zeiger, JP Coello and Hussey each defeating fellow Seahawks in semifinal action.

Marin continued his strong weekend in the Flight A singles final, defeating Zeiger, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3. Jacquemin also captured a Flight A singles title with a victory over North Carolina A&T's Tonatan Sagiv, while Hussey defeated Coello, 6-3, 7-6 (4), in the Flight B singles final.

In doubles action, the duo of Alex de Gabriele and Marin entered the tournament as the No. 1-ranked pairing and advanced to the Flight A finals after victories over pairings from North Carolina A&T and Presbyterian. They faced the No. 3 pairing of Coello and Dean in the championship match, with Coello and Dean earning a 6-3 victory to claim the Flight A title.
