WILMINGTON, N.C. – The UNCW men's tennis 2026 recruiting class has been ranked No. 8 among mid-major programs by Tennis Recruiting Network (TRN).
"We are very excited about our incoming recruiting class, and we are not surprised it is creating a buzz nationally", said head coach
Mait DuBois. "For this poll, Tennisrecruiting.net gets feedback from top coaches all over the country, and we appreciate them selecting us among the best teams in the country. With this class, we believe their potential is even higher than they appear on paper, and we are truly excited about this group of incoming Seahawks."
The Seahawks' incoming class features four notable recruits in
Gabriel Jacquemin, Alejandro Castellanos, JP Coello and Alejandro Pena.
Jacquemin enters Wilmington with a 12.38 Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) and is ranked No. 9 individually in the Tennis Recruiting Network rankings. The France native was recently ranked No. 159 in the ITF junior world rankings and advanced from the qualifying draw to the main draw of a J200 event in France.
Castellanos joins the Seahawks from Colombia with an ITF junior world ranking of No. 104 and an 11.63 UTR. He was ranked No. 1 in his age group in Colombia and has captured two ITF junior singles titles and one doubles title. Castellanos also represented Colombia at the South American Cup.
Coello, a native of Port St. Lucie, Florida, enters UNCW with an 11.71 UTR. He was rated as a five-star recruit by Tennis Recruiting Network and ranked among the top 10 recruits in the state of Florida.
Pena arrives in Wilmington with a 12.07 UTR and has captured both ITF junior singles and doubles titles during his career.
While not included in Tennis Recruiting Network's recruiting class rankings, transfer
Noah Zeiger adds another accomplished player to the Seahawks' 2026 roster. The former Gardner-Webb standout enters UNCW with a 12.25 UTR after earning Big South Freshman of the Year honors in 2025.
"With the transfer addition of
Noah Zeiger and getting
Andrew Hayduke II back from injury, that is 6 new options we will have for next year", said DuBois. "With a team that returns 4 of their top 6 from last year, I think we will be able to make a significant jump."
