Lines, Robbins Conclude NCAA East Preliminaries

LEXINGTON, Kentucky – UNCW's Courtney Lines and Jordyn Robbins concluded their NCAA Outdoor East Preliminary Round appearances on Thursday afternoon at the University of Kentucky's Track & Field Complex.

Robbins, in her NCAA Regional debut, recorded a strong 46.96 meter throw in the Women's Javelin. The 5-8 sophomore finished 16th among 48 competitors and was only four spots away from advancing to the NCAA National Championships.

Lines, who fouled on her jumps, was an NCAA qualifier for the third straight season in the Women's Long Jump. The four-time Coastal Athletic Association gold medalist recorded top 30 marks at the NCAA East Regionals in the previous two years.

Robbins and Lines were two of eight Seahawks – the most in 14 years – who made the NCAA meet this week in Lexington.

UNCW hurdler Josh Parks looks to qualify for his second straight NCAA Nationals on Friday when he runs the NCAA Quarterfinals in the Men's 400 Meter Hurdle after advancing to the regional final with a 51.21 time on Wednesday that was good for 18th place.
