Baseball Preview: NC State

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Seahawks (19-13) continue their homestand on Tuesday when they host NC State (18-11) in the first of a home-and-home series with the Wolfpack beginning at 6 p.m.

Both teams are coming off series losses with the Seahawks dropping 2-of-3 to visiting Charleston and the Wolfpack being swept at Louisville.

UNCW's Tanner Thach ranks fourth nationally with 16 home runs and is bearing down on the program's single-season record of 21, last equaled by Casey Golden in 2017. Thach, just a sophomore, also surpassed the 100 career RBI mark earlier this season and has knocked in 110 runs through 89 games played.

UNCW concludes the homestand this weekend when it welcomes Towson for a three-game Coastal Athletic Association series. The series opens on Friday with the first pitch set for 6 p.m. The series continues Saturday at 4 p.m. and wraps up on Sunday with a 2 p.m. start.
