Sandy Hawks Take Two Matches On Friday

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Making its debut on the West Coast this weekend, UNCW got off to a great start with wins over Cal State Northridge and Cal State Bakersfield on Friday at the Barnes Beach Volleyball Complex

UNCW ran its record to 7-1 with the sweep.

In the opener, a 5-0 shutout of CSUN, Gracie Sistrunk and Bri Haggerty clinched the match with a straight-set 21-18, 25-23 win at the third position.

In the nightcap, Jadyn Barry and Charlotte Cronister fought off match point twice to win 18-16 in set three to clinch the match, 3-2 over host Bakersfield.

The Seahawks will play three matches on Saturday beginning with a 2 p.m. EST start against Sacramento State.
