Crozier-Carole Paces Seahawks at Liberty

LYNCHBURG, Virginia – Freshman Emma Crozier-Carole accumulated 2,805 points in the pentathlon to lead UNCW's multis at the Brant Tolsma Invitational on Thursday at Liberty's Indoor Track Complex.

Crozier-Carole, whose point total ranks 10th on the school's all-time leaderboard, finished in fourth place. Junior Amanda Ruffin racked up 2,626 points for a ninth-place finish while senior Carly Mixon collected 2,237 points to finish 13th.

"First and foremost, congratulations to Emma for earning a spot on UNCW's top 10 list in her first pentathlon," said UNCW Head Coach Jeff Klaves. "As a group, we're really excited about their effort and execution. We're leaving today better knowing the things we want to work on to keep improving our marks as we train in the weeks ahead."

The trio will continue to train with hopes of competing in the pentathlon at the inaugural CAA Indoor Track and Field Championships scheduled for Mar. 8-9, 2024, in Boston, Mass.

The Seahawk women's indoor track & field team continues its season at North Carolina's Dick Taylor Challenge on Saturday in Chapel Hill.
