Seahawks host longtime rival Campbell at 6 p.m. on Tuesday

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW and Campbell meet for the 128th time on Tuesday at Brooks Field in a matchup of the two of the top programs in the state. The Seahawks lead the Colonial Athletic Association while the Camels sit atop the Big South.

The Seahawks hold an 84-42-1 lead in the all-time series, but it was the Camels who swept last season's home-and-home series. This season's home-and-home will be the last one as non-conference rivals as Campbell will join the Colonial Athletic Association for the 2023-24 academic year.

The Camels will host the tail end of the series on May 9 in Buies Creek.

Sophomore Cyle Phelan will get the start for the Seahawks while CU counters with senior Hunter Lloyd, a righthander.

UNCW freshman pitcher Connor Kane was named Rookie of the Week by the CAA following a strong performance in the series finale against TCU. Kane struck out a career-high six in a career-long 5.2 innings.

The homestand continues Friday when UNCW hosts a red-hot Delaware team beginning on Friday at 6 p.m. UNCW celebrates Alumni Weekend by honoring the 1963 NJCAA National Champions and the 2003 and 2013 NCAA Regional teams. The 2003 team earned the program's first NCAA tournament berth and reached the Baton Rouge Regional final before falling in extra innings to LSU.
