Baseball Preview: at #23 TCU

Series opens Friday with a 5 p.m. CST start

FT. WORTH, Texas – UNCW takes on nationally-ranked TCU in a three games series at Lupton Stadium beginning Friday with a 5 p.m. CST start.

The series continues Saturday and Sunday with 4 p.m. and 1 p.m. starts, respectively. Big 12 Now, which can be found on ESPN+, will stream the series while WMFD ESPN Radio Wilmington will broadcast a radio feed locally on 101.7 FM or 630 AM. All links to coverage of this weekend can be found at UNCWSports.com.

For the Seahawks (19-12), the series caps a six-game road stretch that opened with a split at Colonial Athletic Association leader Elon last weekend and continued Tuesday with a 12-3 loss at NC State. This weekend will serve as the bye weekend in the conference schedule for UNCW.

The Horned Frogs (21-12), meanwhile, earned an impressive series win over visiting Oklahoma State last weekend at Lupton and they followed that with a 7-5 win earlier this week at Abilene Christian. TCU is 11-5 at home this season.

The all-time series is tied at 2-all and was last played in 2012 with the Frogs winning the final two games of the home series to earn the series victory. The Seahawks earned a 7-5 win in the opener on a two-run homer by standout Tyler Molinaro in the top of the ninth.

The first game of the series came in 2007 with the Seahawks topping the 12th-ranked Frogs, 10-5, in Conway, S.C.
