Baseball Preview: at #9 East Carolina

GREENVILLE, N.C. – UNCW and East Carolina round out their annual home-and-home series Tuesday at 6 p.m. when the Seahawks visit Clark-LeClair Stadium.

The two met earlier this month with the Seahawks coming out on top 8-5 at Brooks Field. ECU, which is ranked as high as ninth, swept George Mason over the weekend to improve to 19-5 and it owns a 16-1 mark at home this season. UNCW took 2-of-3 at Stony Brook to raise its records to 15-9 overall and 7-2 in the Colonial Athletic Association.

UNCW's Brock Wills was named Rookie of the Week by the Colonial Athletic Association after hitting .500 (6-for-12) in a series win at Stony Brook. The freshman infielder had three hits and drove in a career-high four runs in an extra-inning loss to nationally-ranked NC State earlier in the week.

Red-shirt sophomore Ryan Calvert will make his first start of the season on the mound. He missed the 2022 season with an injury and last made a start on May 18, 2021 against North Carolina.

The Seahawks host North Carolina A&T in a CAA series beginning on Friday at 6 p.m.
