Baseball Preview: at Elon

ELON, N.C. – It's back on the road this weekend as UNCW visits Elon for another three-game Coastal Athletic Association series, this time at Latham Park beginning on Friday.

The series will be streamed on FloCollege, the official streaming partner of the CAA, and locally in Wilmington on ESPN Wilmington, 101.7 FM. Friday will be a 6 p.m. start followed by 2 p.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

The Seahawks look to carry momentum from Tuesday's non-conference win over ninth-ranked Coastal Carolina. UNCW plated two runs in the bottom of the ninth to stun the Chanticleers, 2-1.

Elon too has momentum following a 10-8 win at Winthrop on Tuesday. The Phoenix battered the Eagle bullpen for seven runs in the eighth inning to wipe out an 8-3 deficit. Last weekend, the Phoenix rolled into Buies Creek and knocked off Campbell for a series win.

UNCW will alter its rotation this weekend with Cooper Allen moving to Friday, followed by Trey Williford and Conner Marshburn on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

With the new division set up and corresponding schedule change for this season, Elon and UNCW will play a home-and-home series, totaling six games. The Seahawks swept the series earlier this season, winning a 16-inning marathon in the opener and tossing consecutive shutouts in games two and three.
